i spend work hours editing dead bird.

pen bendy against the pressure

of body. this room. my hands. wax

hands, dripping

like a schedule. inarticulate candles

examining a dead bird. asking

for a song to blur the gridlines. i feel

the bird chemistry losing

interest in being itself. edited into smaller

more inarticulate questions

than flight. and time disperses

into odour. sticks to the fabrics
